ABOUT ME
Caked & Baked happened by accident. Really. If you had asked me 10 years ago if I baked cakes, I would have laughed in your face. Back in 2008, I was working in one of London’s top City Law firms, now I can be found in the kitchen covered in flour and buttercream – oh and in Tel-Aviv at that!
I made my first celebration cake back in 2010 for my daughter’s first birthday. I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew she had to have a themed party with a themed cake to match. Having only been in Tel-Aviv for a year, I didn’t even know where to find fondant here, so had my mum bring some over in her suitcase from London! It wasn’t anything amazing, but I made it with my mums guidance. As an 80’s baby, my mum had the Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake Book. It was like the bible in our home. My mum made every single cake in there for our birthdays. I can remember her staying up late the night before and us coming down in the morning to see the creation she had made! So when I became a mum, I just knew I HAD to make my kids cakes. Even though I had no clue how to!
Fast-forward a few years, babies and birthdays later, my friends started asking me to make cakes for their kids, and then it became friends of friends and so on. I was in denial for a while, but eventually admitted that I had become the local Cake Lady and Caked & Baked was officially born.
Caked & Baked is not only known for our fun and creative styles, but also for how good our cakes taste. Flavour is and has always been the most important factor, so I ensure we only ever use the highest quality ingredients in all our cakes.
Want to know how to improve your own cake making skills? Great! We offer both private and group workshops, from beginners and up. Having struggled to perfect skills on my own, I have created workshops to teach you how to achieve the perfect finish to your cakes!
